best believe that this game will have a heavy influence on doom x. i’m pretty satisfied with the way the game looks and plays from the demos. i’ve been reading lots of comments on the new doom just bashing it and i really don’t get it. i’ve already pre-ordered my copy with the revenant statue and i’m sorry but i did not get the pc version. yeah i got the console version. it was a real hard decision! what do you guys like or not like about the new doom? one thing i thought was interesting were the changes the imps went through. i remember seeing the reveal at quakecon 2014 and it blew my tits off. i thought the imps looked cool without any eyes and then in the latest trailer they totally changed their face. i think they both look great but man how cool would it be if i created different skins of the imps in doom x? i’ve had some help from the zdoom community where i can have enemies randomly spawn different variations. for example the succubus/dark vixens will randomly spawn with different hair or shade of skin color so they all won’t look like clones. i think it’d be cool to apply that same method with the imps but give them their look from classic doom 1, doom 3 and the two versions from doom 2016. below is what inspired me. i saw it on instagram. so good news is that i have a new job that does not require a brutal commute like before. this means more time. i’m going to try and post more updates frequently. sorry for keeping you guys in the dark. my focus before was creating maps but i am switching that focus on just creating new monsters. map making is very time consuming. i might just leave that for someone else to do. if you have any experience let me know. i also have a new instagram channel up. follow here . comments (3) 12.3.2015 update doom x | doom x videos | thursday, december 3rd, 2015 i know you guys are thinking this is dead but rest assure it’s not. again just been super busy in my life lately with full-time job, freelancing, wife, friends, family, etc. i have been speaking to someone lately who is very talented with decorate and he’s giving me some pointers with some of the new monsters. i feel bad for leaving everyone in the dark so might as well show you a little something. this is a very early version of one of the new flying units. there will be additional frames added to him. enjoy. photo by pierre ramirez / google photos comments (11) 4.14.2014 update…….sorry! doom x | doom x videos | monday, april 14th, 2014 sorry guys for the longggggggggggggggggggg update. i know i am an asshole. so i feel like i’ve left you guys out of the loop for awhile. just quickly though the project was on hiatus for like a year but i am back at it. lots has happened since the last update! i got married and i’m very busy at my job which is good for me but bad for the project. so to show you guys where i left off here are some screen shots of what i last did and will continue on. enjoy. also i will never give up on this project. i’m sure a few of you have but i understand. doom is the greatest fucking game of all time and it deserves a bad ass retro sequel. this is obviously incomplete. notice the amazing shading job…haha. comments (29) 11.7.2012 update doom x | doom x videos | wednesday, november 7th, 2012 the doom x project was halted for like nearly two months due to computer issues :p. with the holidays coming up i will have a ton of free time to make up for it. i know i’ve been announcing new characters but then nothing ever shows up haha but i am here to announce one that will def make the cut. the doom 64 pain elementals will be doom xified! color really has not been added to this yet. they will be called death elemental and will not shoot out skulls. they will spawn out something that flies and will be fun to slaughter! i think i am at a happy place with my map editing and going to focus back on monsters this holiday. thanks to everyone for their patience on this project. i know it’s taking forever but god i’ve had such a busy life these past few years. i wish i could make this a full time job! also if any of you are really good with decorate programming and have any ideas to bring any doom 3 creatures back, let me know. i’d love to add the cherub into doom x but my decorate skills are pretty limited. just shoot me a wad with some dummy sprites and i’ll draw it up old school doom style. i am also excited to see the zdoom update and am really excited to experiment with some of the new features. the pain elemental 64 attack feature that was added inspired me to do the death elemental. comments (23) succubus and trite beta release *updated 2-11-13* doom x | doom x videos | monday, september 17th, 2012 some people have been complaining the filefactory link isn’t working so i just went ahead and threw it in a folder for now. enjoy. download succubus and trite beta click below to try out the succubus and trite in action. the beta release of these have less frames and no gib animation. those of you decorate editors can see which frames are missing. oh and the wings aren’t on the float animation. i forgot to add them :p. have fun. http://www.filefactory.com/file/73nzva4f51v1/n/doomx-suctrite.wad load this wad with doom 2 and this will replace the imps and demons. ********************************edit******************************** someone suggested i use some other source of hosting files rather than the one above. i just checked out that link and seems their server isn’t working correctly. if anyone has any suggestions i am totally up for it. by the way, where are all the youtube videos of this wad?? comments (4) 10.18.2011 update…finally! :p doom x | doom x news , doom x videos , downloads , misc | sunday, december 18th, 2011 so this is a brand new weapon that’s related to the freeze gun which you have probably seen on the flash video above. i can’t show you all of it yet but just wait :). all the functions of this gun is already done and i’ve been using it lots in the game. i can’t give too much detail on what it does but i can tell you it’s closely related to the other new gun. i’m in gun mode right now and there is another bad ass gun that i’ve got all setup also but will not be featured on the 1st half. think of it as a bfg top tier gun. being so busy and all, i have not done too much map making but there was one monster kind of similar to the wizards in quake 1 that was in the works. when i have time i will finish him off since he has a very simple design. usually summers are no good for the doom x project w
